How to read a fixture card
Five fields matter. Use them in this order.
1. Venue
Boundary size, surface type, average first-innings score across the last four matches at the strip. Not venue reputation — the strip in use.
2. Toss
Evening T20s in India have been won by the chasing side ~52% of the time over the last 50 matches. Day matches flip the script.
3. Confirmed XI
Wait for the playing XI. A change at the top of the order or in the bowling attack is enough to revisit the captain pick.
4. Role map
Map the batting order and the bowling workload. Captain and vice-captain should sit on players with two clear paths to points.
5. Weather
Dew, cloud cover, and wind shift the choice between bat-first and bowl-first. Check the venue’s weather service within thirty minutes of the toss.
